Dr. Rukmini Banerji, Director - Programs and senior member of Pratham's national leadership team, received the Maulana Abdul Kalam Shiksha Purashkar from Mr. Nitish Kumar, Honorable Chief Minister of Bihar. Dr. Banerji received the award for the exceptional work she has been doing with the government to popularize education among out-of-school children and to increase enrollment in schools. The award which has been constituted for the first time was given at the Shiksha Diwas function held in Patna on November 11.
