Pratham began working in the state of Rajasthan in 2001. Some key programmes are:
 
Read India is active in 12 blocks across 9 districts.
   
The Urban Programme is present in Jaipur city.
   
Digital Classrooms are implemented in 121 schools across the state.
   
The Second Chance programme is currently being implemented in 6 locations -Jalore, Ajmer, Banswara, Dungarpur, Udaipur and Jaipur. The programme reaches over 900 school dropouts annually.
   
Pratham's Vocational Training programme has set up a PACE Hospitality Training Centres in Udaipur and Pilani.
   
Science fairs and workshops are active in a few locations across the state as part of Pratham's Science programme
   
Pratham Council for Vulnerable Children interventions are carried out in Jaipur and Jodhpur.
 
Special Programmes

The Pratham Supported Schools programme is active in Jaipur, Udaipur and Jhadol.
   
The Pilani Resource Center (PRC) is supported by the Birla Group and BITS Alumni Association. Construction on the center was completed in 2012 and since then, the PRC has functioned as a training centre for hospitality students and for Pratham's internal training sessions. Later, the reach of the center expanded to 24 villages of the surrounding area. Balwadis (children from 3-6 years), learning camps (Std. 1-5) and foundation courses, science and computer program (Std. 6-8) are implemented here.
   
Chambal Fertilisers Ltd. supports an integrated programme in Gadepan and Kota. It is being implemented in 28 government schools for students of the age-group 3-14 years.
 

Government Tie Ups

Pratham worked with the Government of Rajasthan from 2010 to 2013 to improve learning levels of children in 11 blocks of 11 districts. In this period, Pratham had trained around 4500 teachers on the Combined Activities for Maximize Learning (CAMaL) teaching methodology and assessment of Std. 1-2 children. Over 1,800 headmasters also received training on testing processes, usage of material, and volunteering opportunities. More than 5,000 volunteers were mobilized and trained in that year to support these teachers and schools. Pratham team also worked with Std. 3-5 children who were not at their grade-specific competencies in reading and math. Pratham Rajasthan covered around 28,000 children in 2013.


In 2013, Pratham was invited to contribute to the planning, designing and creating content for the Reading Campaign; an initiative started by Government of Rajasthan. Post this. Pratham was asked to provide monitoring support during the implementation of the campaign. Pratham was also involved in 'Sambalan', a state-wide student assessment carried out by the government.

 

The Padho Bundi project was launched in October 2013 by the District Administration of Bundi in collaboration with Pratham Rajasthan in order to improve the learning levels of Std. 3-5 children. Initially, a pilot was conducted in 20 schools of Teleda block. After observing the results, the program was scaled up to 197 schools which needed the intervention the most.
