Pratham is an innovative learning organization created to improve the quality of education in India. As one of the largest non-governmental organizations in the country, Pratham focuses on high-quality, low-cost, and replicable interventions to address gaps in the education system. Established in 1995 to provide education to children in the slums of Mumbai, Pratham has grown both in scope and geographical coverage. Pratham is a widely recognized organization, having received notable awards such as the WISE Prize for Innovation, Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, the Henry R Kravis Prize in Leadership, and the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year for Public Service.

Project Summary

Learning with Vodafone is a digital education initiative being implemented by Pratham Education Foundation and funded by Vodafone India Foundation and Indus Towers Ltd. The programme is an innovative teacher-centric technological intervention which is currently working with 2,500+ schools across eight states with the aim of equipping teachers with innovative teaching practices and ability to integrate technology in their classrooms. The programme has developed a holistic teacher portal Gurushala ( to take this vision forward.

Position Summary

The incumbent will be working within the content development team which is primarily responsible for customizing and developing content for Gurushala which is envisaged as a one-stop platform for all requirements of teachers: content, pedagogy ideas, networking with other teachers and ideas on using technology in classrooms. It focuses on the needs of teachers considering which new courses and content will be created and made available to the audience. The key focus areas of the incumbent’s position involve presentations, researching, sourcing, writing and editing appropriate digital content to be uploaded on the web portal for teachers and educators.

Key Responsibilities

  • To present the vision of the programme and collaborate with other organisations for the co-creation of courses and digital content
  • To research, source, write interesting content for teachers and educators related to pedagogy and use of digital content in classrooms
  • To write case studies, conduct interviews of teachers using the content
  • Analyze key performance indicators to determine the effectiveness of course content
  • To organize and conduct workshops for teacher capacity building
  • Supporting the programme team with other tasks as required

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to create online content for teachers related to pedagogy
  • Ability to generate content ideas and create content for the portal as per requirement
  • Ability to work cohesively with a team and also independently with strong initiative and proactive involvement
  • Attention to detail and strong command over language and grammar in Hindi and English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suits and Google suite. Candidates with basic typing skills in Hindi (through Google Input tools or Kruti) will be preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or Post-graduation in any relevant field
  • 1+ years of work experience in developing content and working with educators. Candidates with prior experience of developing digital content or courses for websites or educational institutions will be preferred

Working Details and Remuneration

  • Remuneration will be commensurate to candidate’s experience and will be within the range of INR 33,000-36,000 gross per month
  • The incumbent will be based in New Delhi and will have to travel regularly across the country
