About this role

This position will hold responsibility for implementing the program in the assigned Jan Siksha Kendra.

About the Program

Pratham Education Foundation, in partnership with NTPC Limited, is implementing a comprehensive Upper Primary Education Program in Uttar Pradesh (Sonbhadra and Rihand) and Madhya Pradesh (Singroli). The program aims to address foundational learning gaps among children in Grades 6 to 8, with a special focus on girls and NTPC-supported GEM participants.

The intervention combines in-school and community-based activities to improve academic outcomes, build life skills, and foster environmental awareness through three key components:

  1. Catch-Up: Focused support for selected Grade 6 and 7 students, particularly girls and GEM participants.

  2. Hamari Duniya: An experiential, environment-focused learning program for Grades 6 to 8.

  3. Grade 8 Pilot: Targeted academic interventions in 15 schools to support selected girls.

About the Role

Pratham Education Foundation, in partnership with NTPC Limited, is implementing an Upper Primary Education Program designed to address foundational learning gaps among children in Grades 6 to 8, with a special focus on girls and NTPC-supported GEM participants. The Project In charge will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective implementation of the project at the field level.

This position requires extensive travel to various working locations, where the incumbent will provide support, monitor activities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure timely reporting. The Project Incharge will serve as the key bridge between the field team, local authorities, schools, communities, and Pratham’s state and central teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

Program Implementation & Monitoring

  • Provide regular support and monitoring of Community Instructor Mobilizers (CIMs).

  • Ensure program activities (Catch-Up Camps, Hamari Duniya, and Grade 8 Pilot) are implemented as per plan and timelines.

  • Collect and share case studies, success stories, and field updates in multiple formats (written, visual, and reports).

  • Facilitate internal and external visits, ensuring high-quality field demonstration and coordination.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with NTPC local units (primary donor) at the project sites.

  • Build effective partnerships with school leadership, teachers, and community stakeholders to strengthen program implementation.

  • Liaise with local administrations at the district and block levels, securing approvals and maintaining regular reporting.

  • Engage with Gram Panchayats and other grassroots institutions to promote ownership and local support for the program.

Capacity Building & Team Support

  • Support CIMs and team leaders in building facilitation, pedagogical, and community engagement skills.

  • Provide on-the-spot guidance during field visits and support problem-solving at the ground level.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and share timely progress reports, monitoring data, and program updates with the state and central teams.

  • Document challenges, learnings, and best practices for organizational learning.

  • Create case studies and highlight stories that capture the impact of the intervention.

Logistics & Mobility

  • Travel extensively across project locations.

  • Coordinate and facilitate program visits by internal and external stakeholders.

  • Must own and use a two-wheeler for regular travel across villages, schools, and communities.

  • Manage administrative tasks (local office, bills, etc) 

Reporting to

This position is required to report to the State Head and Central Team

Location: Uttar Pradesh (Sonbhadra and Rihand) and Madhya Pradesh (Singroli)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate degree in Education, Social Sciences, Rural Development, or related fields (Master’s preferred).

  • 2–4 years of experience in program implementation, monitoring, or community engagement.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in Hindi; working knowledge of English is desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with government officials, schools, communities, and donors.

  • High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to educational equity.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital communication tools.

  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively.

  • Must own a valid driving license and a two-wheeler.

Other Requirements
