Since 2023, Pratham Education Foundation and Dani Sports Foundation (DSF) have partnered to strengthen grassroots sports ecosystems by integrating play as an essential part of children’s learning journeys.
The collaboration began with 12-day sports camps across multiple locations, bringing together thousands of children to participate in structured sports activities, and later evolved into the Khel Nursery model. The program now engages children from Grades 6–8 through regular fitness and sports activities in schools. Sessions are supported by youth fellows and student leaders and include activity-based games, sports challenges, and school events such as Khel Melas.
Sports Nurseries established through structured training, mentorship, and regular practice encourage children to participate in competitive events. It has evolved into building local sports ecosystems at the village and school level.
