She has been associated with the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) since its inception in 2005. She is the architect of the ASER survey and other primary research studies currently undertaken by ASER Centre. ASER’s unique approach to measuring learning outcomes has been recognized nationally and internationally and has also been adapted by several other countries in Asia and Africa.
Dr. Madhav Chavan is Co-Founder of Pratham Education Foundation, an organization that reaches over 7 million children and youth in India every year. After obtaining a PhD in chemistry from Ohio State University and working as a visiting faculty at the University of Houston, Dr. Madhav Chavan returned to India in 1986 to research and teach Chemistry.
