Pratham began working in the state of Odisha in 2004. Some key programmes are:
 
Read India is active in 13 blocks across 13 districts.
   
The Urban Programme is being carried out in Cuttack.
   
An Early Childhood Development programme is implemented in Baleshwar, Boudh and Bolangir.
   
The Second Chance programme is present at Ganjam, Rayagada, and Jajpur, reaching out to over 300 drop-outs students annually.
   
Science fairs and workshops are active in rural Cuttack as part of Pratham's Science programme.
   
Under Pratham's Vocational Training Programme, there is a focus on skill development amongst youth. This includes a PACE Hospitality Training Centre in Ganjam and a multi-skilling center in Jajpur.
