About the Program

Pratham has been running a sustained learning intervention for over a decade, focusing on children aged 3–14 years. The program covers pre-primary, primary, and upper-primary grades, and combines early childhood education with foundational literacy and numeracy. The goal is to ensure holistic development, prepare children for school, prevent them from falling behind, help them build strong learning foundations, and support their successful progress through school and the community.

Position Overview

The City Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering partnerships with schools, communities, and educational institutions. The role involves adapting and contextualizing educational content, organizing and facilitating teacher training, monitoring program implementation, and providing field-level support to teachers. The coordinator also contributes to program review and improvement, serving as a vital link between Central Program Leadership, on-field teaching staff, local government education departments, and school teachers.

The City Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing multiple programs across Bangalore city.

Key Responsibilities

A. Program Implementation

  • Conduct outreach and collaboration with schools, communities, and mothers’ groups to introduce Pratham’s initiatives.
  • Coordinate with government departments, block-level teams, cluster volunteers, and school/community institutions.
  • Ensure smooth execution of content roll-out, assessments, training events, and community
  • Provide regular field support, classroom observations, and feedback loops to strengthen

B. Team Management & Coordination

  • Monitor on-ground activities to ensure adherence to program objectives and
  • Maintain regular communication and follow-ups with team
  • Supervise and coach field staff, ensuring clarity on program goals, methodologies, and annual
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, identify challenges, and suggest

C. Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Track program indicators and ensure data
  • Support field assessments, surveys, monitoring visits, and
  • Provide feedback and insights to improve program quality and

D. Stakeholder & Donor Coordination

  • Liaise with donors, government departments, and partner
  • Share regular updates on program strategies, plans, and
  • Submit weekly or monthly reports aligned with donor budgets and
  • Assist in organizing trainings, awareness programs, and community outreach

E. Administrative & Operational Support

  • Support documentation, procurement, and compliance-related
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, donor guidelines, and reporting
  • Assist with project-related documentation, donor requirements, and audit

F. Measurement & Cost Effectiveness

  • Implement Pratham’s monitoring and evaluation strategy at block
  • Track progress against academic indicators, training targets, and outreach
  • Ensure accurate data collection, documentation, and
  • Manage unit costs to ensure cost-effective program

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Educational & Professional Qualifications

  • MSW or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant

Experience

  • Internal Candidates: Strong understanding of Pratham’s programs in Karnataka
  • External Candidates: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in education or skill development programs, preferably in a coordination role.

Desirable Skills

  • Excellent communication skills in Kannada, English, and Hindi.
